How do our orchids get to you?
Every orchid has its own story. Ours begins long before the plant reaches your home – at a very early stage of its journey.

The beginning in the laboratory
Young orchids, just like most commercially grown ornamental plants, begin their life in professional laboratory conditions. This propagation method is a common standard in modern horticulture and floriculture and is used for many plants you find in flower shops and garden centres.
Orchids are propagated using in vitro laboratory cultivation by specialised companies focused on this field. This process ensures healthy, strong plants with stable characteristics, uniform growth and freedom from disease.
Part of this work also includes the long-term development of colour varieties and flower shapes, responding to market demand and current trends. This provides orchids with consistent colouring, regular form and a strong foundation for further growth.
Once the young plants are sufficiently developed, they leave the laboratory and continue their growth in a completely natural way.
Transfer to professional greenhouses
The young orchids are then transferred to modern greenhouses operated by our exclusive supplier Orchidee Colonna. The first crucial step here is acclimatisation, during which the plants gradually adapt to new light conditions, humidity and temperature. This phase is essential for their future health and vitality.
After acclimatisation, the orchids are transplanted into their final transparent plastic pots, specially designed for orchids. These pots allow light and air to reach the roots and ensure proper drainage, which is key to building a strong root system.
Stable conditions for strong plants
In the next phase, orchids grow at a constant temperature of around 30 °C, with high humidity and plenty of light. Most importantly, they experience stable, unchanged conditions, without stress or sudden fluctuations.
In the greenhouses, orchids are grown exclusively under natural daylight, without artificial lighting. This allows them to maintain a natural growth rhythm and develop stronger leaves and roots.
Preparing for flowering
Once an orchid has reached the correct number of leaves, ideal size and a strong root system, it moves to the next stage. The plants are transferred to a cooler section, where lower temperatures naturally stimulate the formation of flower spikes.
Beautiful flowers in perfect form
After spikes appear, orchids move to another greenhouse section where they gradually bloom. Flower spikes are supported with stakes to ensure elegant growth and correct positioning.
Thanks to sufficient space and light, the flowers open beautifully, have a regular shape and long-lasting appearance.

Careful inspection and shipping
Before an orchid is shipped to you, it undergoes strict final inspection and selection. Roots, leaves and flowers are carefully checked. Only orchids that meet our high quality standards are prepared for delivery.
The result is an orchid with a clear origin, strong foundation and long-lasting beauty.
Choose an orchid with a true story

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about how our orchids are grown and cared for
No. Laboratory propagation is a standard and widely used method in modern horticulture. The vast majority of commercially grown ornamental plants you find in flower shops and garden centres start this way.
Once orchids leave the laboratory, they continue to grow naturally in greenhouse conditions.
No. Our orchids are not genetically modified. Laboratory propagation is used to multiply plants safely and consistently, not to alter their genetics.
Orchids reproduce very slowly in nature. Laboratory propagation allows growers to:
- produce healthy, disease-free plants
- ensure stable colours and flower shapes
- achieve consistent quality and growth
After the laboratory stage, orchids are grown in professional greenhouses operated by our exclusive partner Orchidee Colonna, under carefully controlled conditions.
No – we do not use artificial lighting. One of the biggest advantages of growing orchids in the San Sebastiano al Vesuvio / Naples area is the abundance of sunshine throughout the year. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate with more than 2,400 hours of sunlight annually, which translates to an average of about 6–7 hours of sunshine per day. This means the plants receive plenty of natural daylight, allowing them to grow with a natural rhythm and develop stronger leaves and roots without the need for artificial light sources.
Lower temperatures naturally stimulate the formation of flower spikes. This is a natural signal for the plant and results in more even and abundant flowering.
Each orchid undergoes careful final inspection. Roots, leaves and flowers are checked individually. Only plants that meet our quality standards are selected for shipping.
Yes. Our orchids are shipped when they are strong, well-developed and ready for long-term flowering. With proper care, they will continue to bloom and thrive in your home.
